UFC 168 results: Anderson Silva leg break ends Chris Weidman rematch

A horrifying finish to the Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman rematch.
It took 16 fights but Anderson Silva was finally felled inside the Octagon when he couldn't withstand a leaping left hook from Chris Weidman at UFC 162. He was knocked out, tasting defeat for the first time in seven years. The loss cost him the middleweight championship title.
Tonight (Sat., Dec. 28, 2013), just five months later, the two met once more in the main event of the UFC 168 pay-per-view (PPV) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
And it saw one of the most awful finishes in the history of pro fighting.
Into the second round, Silva threw a hard leg kick that Weidman checked perfectly. Unfortunately, Silva's leg immediately broke in half, ending the fight and quite possibly putting an end to the Brazilian's career.
For whatever it's worth, though it doesn't seem to matter now, Weidman dominated the first round, nearly finishing Silva with punches from top position after a takedown.
This is truly sad.
